Are dentures right for me?
If you are missing most or all of your teeth, dentures are a great solution for restoring structure and letting you get back to regular activites such as eating, talking, laughing and smiling with greater ease.
What types of dentures are available?
There are two basic types of dentures: partial dentures and full dentures. Partial dentures are used to replace several missing teeth that are in the same row. Full, or complete dentures are used when all the teeth on the top or bottom of the mouth are missing.
How your dentures will be made
Dentures are made to resemble your natural teeth with little noticeable change to your appearance. We will start by taking a mold of your gums to build the custom denture. We may need to extract any remaining teeth first to get the right mold impression. Once the dentures are made, regardless of type (full or partial), we will have you visit us for multiple appointments so we can make sure your dentures have a nice, comfortable fit! If you would like to learn more about this process, please contact our office!
Will it take long to get used to my dentures?
In most cases, patients adjust to their dentures within approximately two weeks. During this time you will gradually be accustomed to eating and speaking with your new dentures and get more comfortable with inserting and removing them.
